Danie is a Victorian trained Orthopaedic Surgeon, with a special interest in Shoulder surgery whilst maintaining a general scope of practice in upper/lower limb surgery and trauma care.

Danie has a longstanding connection with Ballarat, having immigrated to Maryborough in 2001 from South Africa and then completing his schooling in Ballarat. After completing his medical degree, Danie returned to Ballarat to complete his internship, having always had an interest in living and working regionally. He worked at The Royal Melbourne Hospital for 5 years in Trauma surgery prior to gaining acceptance into the Orthopaedic Surgery training program. He was accepted as a fellow in the Royal Australian College of Surgeons and Australian Orthopaedic Association in 2023, after which he then completed a Fellowship program with the esteemed Prof Richard Page in shoulder and upper limb surgery based in Geelong.
Danie and his family have now returned to Ballarat, with appointments at BallaratOSM, St John of God Hospital, Ballarat Day Procedure unit and Grampians Health.
